History Scoreboard Testing

yungseop edited this page Sep 13, 2021 · 6 revisions

Purpose

The main purpose of this user testing is to investigate and evaluate how users think and feel about the style of the history scoreboard screen with the background image implementations. This user testing will be significant toward our project since there can be some deficiency of our team's final design. Hence, the outcome of testing will be conducted for the improvement of the system.

Process

Due to the current COVID-19 situation, user testing will be done by an online zoom meeting. Testers will experience the system through the remote control of zoom functionality.

final-look This is the screen of history scoreboard that users will see during testing.

  1. Testers will approach the history scoreboard screen.
  2. Write down some important observations.
  3. After the experience of history scoreboard we will ask the testers some open-ended key questions about this history scoreboard.

  • What do you think of the colour contrast?

Results

USER 1

History Scoreboard purpose

This history scoreboard is to keep the record of the score. Hence user can check what they got for the previous scores.

Scoreboard Contrast

YesIt looks very consistent, the overall style is similar, pixelated, and very stylish.

Background Image

Nice dark view which is a great contrast of the whole game. I think it is good.

Improvement Suggestion

Well the theme is about dark city night, however the paper board is quite random, but it still matches style so I guess it is alright.

USER 2

History Scoreboard purpose

I can understand what this is for which is to show the record of player's past scores

History Scoreboard usage

I think it is in an order of the highest score to lowest, which is great because highest score goes on the top of the scoreboard.

Colour Contrast

It matches the overall game colour style which dark night view and it is pixel art style.

Background Image

I can clear see this background image is about city night and this game's theme is in city night too so I have to say the background image matches the game style well and it looks simple and cute.

Improvement Suggestion

Maybe you can change the colour, I prefer black, which is more cool. Also maybe an order functionality of highest to lowest and lowest to highest will be cool.

USER 3

History Scoreboard purpose

I understand it is for the history scores, but I don't exactly know what is purpose for this scoreboard.

History Scoreboard usage

This can be used to check

Colour Contrast

I think the overall style is okay, it doesn't look very obtrusive, because you didn't use exaggerated colors, so the colors are very suitable. Also it looks a bit retro, more like that old book.

Background Image

This size, I think it's okay, maybe it can be made narrower. This looks more serious.

Improvement Suggestion

There is nothing else that needs to be changed with the design I guess. Looks good!

USER 4

History Scoreboard purpose

Generally speaking, it is to show the past scores of the game that user played. With the design I think there are too few elements. It would be better to add some small decorative elements. This is my idea.

History Scoreboard usage

In line with the overall color, this color matching is generally not wrong.

Colour Contrast

It’s quite consistent. After all, I don’t know if the overall color will change, but it’s applicable now.

Background Image

I don’t know if it’s appropriate. You need to see the whole to know.

Improvement Suggestion

I think you can add a different color to each row, so that the difference looks more obvious. But whether two colors are interspersed with each other or a gradient color, I think both are fine.
