Agenda and Notes

  • Review action items from previous meetings

  • Discussion topics

    • Update on country and country government issue: Branch in progress.
    • License
      • Peter will contact people at W3C to see what they do wrt namespace
      • Issue: we want people to use, build on, create derivatives, and distribute, but not "remix" or "transform." This doesn't seem to fit any of the CC licenses. No change to terms in or addition of terms in gist namespace.
      • Is this what we want? W3C document license: https://www.w3.org/Consortium/Legal/2015/doc-license
      • W3C software license: https://www.w3.org/Consortium/Legal/2015/copyright-software-and-document No right to create modifications or derivatives of W3C documents is granted pursuant to this license, except as follows: To facilitate implementation of the technical specifications set forth in this document, anyone may prepare and distribute derivative works and portions of this document in software, in supporting materials accompanying software, and in documentation of software, PROVIDED that all such works include the notice below. HOWEVER, the publication of derivative works of this document for use as a technical specification is expressly prohibited. In addition, "Code Components" —Web IDL in sections clearly marked as Web IDL; and W3C-defined markup (HTML, CSS, etc.) and computer programming language code clearly marked as code examples— are licensed under the W3C Software License
      • Is the ontology itself a document or software?
      • Michael: Good to use a standard license so it's familiar.
    • Michael: Spreadsheet ontology documentation derived from SPARQL queries.
      • Would like to distribute with gist release package.
      • Add to onto_tool to automate generation and inclusion in release package
      • Michael to create github issue, will work with Jamie on automation
    • Release 11.0.0: Early March
    • Peter: Kindle documentation
      • Michael: What about maintenance with gist updates?
        • Peter: Can automate with SHACL
      • Decision to include in gist 11 release package. Once the OWL is finalized, Peter will re-run.
      • Future fine-tuning:
        • Nice to have plain English versions of restrictions rather than pseudo-OWL
        • Add to onto_tool for generation and packaging
        • SHACL validation
  • Review issues
