How to activate inactivate team members from roster and wiki

Overview

Update the active/inactive team members in roster and wiki page to keep project information up to date.

Instructions

  1. Open "Team Roster" spreadsheet
  2. In the main "Roster" tab, check that team member's status is accurate (are they currently "active" or "inactive" in your team?)
  3. Choose the "Current Team" tab
  4. Select all filled cells, including the heading row
  5. Copy cells
  6. Open a new browser window
  7. Open a Google Sheets to markdown converter program (if you don't know one, you can a search and choose an appropriate option, or here are possible options: Option 1, Option 2, Option 3]
  8. Follow the instructions on the markdown converter program to obtain the current team roster converted markdown format, it should instruct you to:
  • paste the active cells you copied from the "Current Team" sheet
  • choose "convert"
  • copy the converted text
  1. Open a new browser window
  2. Open the project wiki page on Github
  3. Navigate to the project's "The Team" wiki page
  4. Choose "edit" (near top of page)
  5. Highlight the text under the "Current Team" heading
  6. Paste the new markdown text you just converted, replacing the original text
  7. Return to "Team Roster" spreadsheet
  8. Choose "Former Team" tab
  9. Select all filled cells, including the heading row
  10. Copy cells
  11. Return to the markdown converter program
  12. Clear the prior conversion results and follow the instructions to convert the former team cells into markdown format
  13. Return to the team wiki page
  14. Highlight the text under "Former Team Members"
  15. Paste the new markdown text you just converted, replacing the original text
  16. Choose "Save Page" (at bottom of wiki page)
  17. Review the page to make sure the new changes are accurate and correctly formatted
