Participants (alphabetical): Allie, Conor, Erik, Kevin, Kushal (async), Mickael
- Quick update on latest read/unread research
- Check-in on HTTPSEverywhere "onion name" pilot & next steps
- Nina encountered issue last week, well after fix landed
- Debugging showed that her workstation was successfully updated & running latest packages, but u2mfn module not built in some VMs
- Conor attempting to get repro -- so far not been able to through automated script, but did not include VM reboot yet
- Kev: Worth upstream ping? Even just asking for assistance in light of our custom kernel build process
- Mickael: https://github.com/QubesOS/qubes-issues/issues/5212 provides some additional backgroudn
- Proposal on the table: Due to 4 week (accelerated) Tails release schedule, decouple from Tails a little bit. Release SecureDrop 1.6.0 on September 22 instead of August 25
- Goal is still to reduce QA burden of releases, make Admin/Journalist Workstation updates easier, etc.
- Kev: Seems reasonable, should test new Tails releases in between
- Erik: Run bulk announce for every new Tails release
- ACTION: Erik to udpate calendar, milestone, including addition of Tails calendar entries
- Came up in context of syncing user data for udpating reply badges
- Flagging for technical discussion (maybe at Client mtg tomorrow) -- should SD Core revoke login tokens under more circumstances (e.g., username change)

Journalist reply badges backend
- Noticed auth badge updating issue, need to do some cleanup there to auth badge doesn't fall out of sync with server-side updates
Today:

- Will document auth badge changes
- Meet w/ Nina about last user interview
Blockers or Asks: Chat with Mickael about that
Yesterday:
- Attempted kernel repro based on Erik & Nina's report, failed to repro
Today:
- Will write up summary of failed repro kernel test, then try again with bouncing the VM (Mickael notes discussion in https://github.com/QubesOS/qubes-issues/issues/5212 may be relevant)
- Add reproducible tarball logic to debian-packaging repo PR https://github.com/freedomofpress/securedrop-debian-packaging/pull/185
