   • Issue #1579: Suggests a rename of spike_detector to spike_recorder to have a more consistent naming of devices. Where do we want to go? Consistency vs. well established naming.

     • detectors are actually measuring e.g. corellation
     • "analyzer" may be a better term
     • no principal reason why detectors can not also record (?)
     • the problem is in general with the terms "detector"/"recorder" specifying aspects that are not necessarily true (anymore).

   • STDP and delays

     • require two different delays: forward and the effect on the input
     • separate axonal and dentritic delays
     • -> #1604 will be discussed in separate VC

   • (postponed / not discussed) Rewrite Testsuite harness in Python
     The test suite has grown historically and we would like to have your viewpoints on refactoring the shell scripts to a Python based setup.
