Package parity with PortableApps #897
Comments
@marnicgit as long as they pass smartscreen verification they should be good but I've really been trying to add their desktop versions since I'm not sure if the portableapp modified versions will be accepted. |
@superusercode ah yeah the versions being added are the standard desktop versions. Do the portable versions even use installers? |
@marnicgit I should be all caught up |
@superusercode I tagged this as Issue-Question so we don't close it with a PR, and don't triage multiple times due to missing labels. |
@superusercode I've enabled GitHub DIscussions. I'm not sure what would happen to your original Issue content. I've converted a few other Issues to Discussions, and I've noticed the linked PRs have been removed when the conversion happens. Would you like me to keep this as an Issue or convert it to a Discussion? |
@denelon I'd prefer it become a discussion since this isn't a serious effort at the moment. Additionally, a lot of the packages in here depend on the zip support. |

This is primarily a tracking issue for myself with the intent to add packages not yet included from PortableApps, make sure they use static installer links, ensure the right installer types are being used, and include as much information possible in the manifests (such as descriptions, tags, cli names, etc.). I will avoid unsupported or EOL releases.
