IHM Meeting Summary Dec 7, 2017

The discussion addressed the following:

1. IHM dictionary manuscript: Figures 1 and 6 are updated on Dropbox. Figure 5 needs further revision. Ben is waiting to discuss the revision of Figure 5 with Andrej.

2. A broader discussion with integrative modeling groups may be required to address the following:

   • Are chemical crosslinking restraints adequately represented in the dictionary?
   • Would a CIF editor be useful for generating IHM dictionary compliant data files - Issue 51

3. Issue 47: Preliminary definitions for generic distance restraints are available in a separate file on Github and will be merged with the IHM dictionary, once finalized. These may also account for the interface mapping restraints discussed in Issue 46. Further discussion is required to figure out how these restraints could be mapped back to the molecular system and the multi-scale model representation so that they can be used for visualization and validation.

4. IHM dictionary update: Following the discussion in the IHM dictionary manuscript, the category describing time-ordered ensembles (IHM_TIME_ORDERED_ENSEMBLE) has been replaced with a generic category that describes any ordered ensemble (IHM_ORDERED_ENSEMBLE). The data items within the category have been appropriately revised to account for a generic ordered ensemble. We need examples to verify if these defintions are adequate.

5. The next meeting will be on Thursday, December 14th, at 12:00 PM Eastern time. The meeting on Thursday January 11th has been moved to Friday, January 12th at 12:00 PM Eastern time.
