@dahu33 add/rollbacks kind of waste the volunteer's time - but... could you add more information about the unexpected side effects that caused the need to roll back? We have found something that can benefit others as a value, if you could be as clear as possible about the impact that was unexpected, it can help keep others from making requests under the same circumstances. Selfishly... it is more conservative of volunteer time wasted, but helping others in the community avoid making a request that might have harmful and unexpected consequences is the true value. |
@dnsguru at this point there isn't more information that we are willing to share publicly that already explained: we primarily added our domains in the list to avoid "supercookies" issues but unfortunately that also prevents us to use our domains with a popular web infrastructure and website security company that provides content delivery network services, DDoS mitigation, Internet security, and distributed domain name server services. This company use the list to check if a domain is valid or not. In our case our domains are flagged as TLD and therefore are not considered as valid domains because of their inclusion the PSL. We did not see this coming when we added our domains to the list and after reflexion we are thinking we are better off of the list for now. We are well aware of the waste of volunteer's time, this wasn't our initial intention and would like to apologies for it. I may be able to share more once our issue is solved. Also happy to discuss privately if need to be. |
Actually, that was incredibly helpful narrative, because the volunteer time
is often sunk into processing requests that may not have put thought into
contemplating the impacts.
You taking the time to write that up is appreciated - even though you took
care to not be terribly specific about proprietary information, the note
itself should help others know to take a pause and think through the
request.
You have hopefully saved others from burning their hand on the hot stove.

This PR reverts #1233
Description of Organization
Organization Website: https://www.curvegrid.com/
Curvegrid is a blockchain software company. Our core product MultiBaas allows both independent developers and enterprise companies to rapidly prototype and build blockchain applications.
We are offering MultiBaas as a fully managed SaaS solution in which users/organizations get assigned sub-domains under multibaas.com and/or multibaas.app.
Reason for PSL removal
We are encountering some unwanted side effects with a popular web infrastructure and website security company that provides content delivery network services, DDoS mitigation, Internet security, and distributed domain name server services.
This company do not recognize our domains as valid due to their inclusion in the list. After debating with this company, we have decided that the immediate best course of action was to remove our domain from list. We are aware of the implications and the propagation time.
