Pilot Projects
The creation and implementation of Pilot Projects will allow for all around project efficiency. Once a Pilot has been identified as crucial, it will be rolled out into a standard process throughout the org. See Project Board for list of issues related to this initiative.
Create project strategy templates that can be used for all HfLA projects.
- Identify initial organizational concepts that can be tested via the creation of a Pilot:
- Affinity Groups (also see Wiki Project Page).
- Special Projects (also see Wiki Project Page).
- Specific Role Recruitment (also see Wiki Project Page).
- Create Milestones for each Pilot. All issues related to each Pilot should be referenced to the applicable Milestone.
- Assign a team champion to each Pilot as necessary. Some of these will require a larger lift than others (i.e. the Special Projects Pilot will need to be broken into several sub teams).
- Each responsible Pilot Champion should define a step by step process that can evolve into a scalable Template.
- Seek team feedback on your designated Template and finalize.
- All Pilot templates should be documented into each Community of Practice Repository for easy access/use to all HfLA project teams.
- Continue to identify and create new Pilots as organizational needs advance and/or change.
To create a standard process throughout the organization for getting projects started. This will optimize the amount of initial legwork required, and help get new projects off the ground with minimal effort.
Once someone starts a new project, they will be able to use the templates created in this initiative to push forward with limited guidance. This will save time and keep everyone moving at an agile pace.
We will beta test and gather data on several Pilot Projects. The ones with the most success will then be built upon and implemented into standardization (See Pilot Milestones here, and Template ideas here)
- Add/assign team champion or PM
The Wiki is a working document and we would love to improve it. Please compile any questions and suggestions you may have and submit it via creating an issue.
