Upstream kernel requires device trees to conform to the device tree binding specification (please see `https://github.com/grate-driver/linux/blob/master/Documentation/devicetree/bindings/net/wireless/brcm,bcm4329-fmac.yaml'). It happens to work because brcmfmac driver also matches device by the MMC card ID and in this case the optional interrupt won't be used by driver because device-tree is skipped.
If you want to explicitly specify that this is a bcm4330, then the correct variant should be compatible = "brcm,bcm4329-fmac", "brcm,bcm4330-fmac"

I'm now thinking that it should be better to remove the monitored-battery node from Nexus7 DT because battery monitor kernel driver will try to reprogram controller firmware based on the values from the battery node, it fails to do so because controller was locked by manufacturer for Nexus7 (there is a kernel message about it), but I'm not sure that this is the case for all other devices.

To be more correct, I meant the monitored-battery property
instead of the node
. The battery-cell node itself should be okay to add.

I can't see any dmesg error messages related to fuelgauge
on cl2n boot, so that problem is probably specific to Nexus7. But as with many of the more recent changes to this device-tree: it does not really make a big difference.

In the latest version of the sensor patch series I moved the thermal zone to tegra30.dtsi and it's now universally available on all devices, hence there is no need to add it to the lenovo DT.

Fix BPF_CORE_READ_BITFIELD() macro used for reading CO-RE-relocatable bitfields. Missing breaks in a switch caused 8-byte reads always. This can confuse libbpf because it does strict checks that memory load size corresponds to the original size of the field, which in this case quite often would be wrong. After fixing that, we run into another problem, which quite subtle, so worth documenting here. The issue is in Clang optimization and CO-RE relocation interactions. Without that asm volatile construct (also known as barrier_var()), Clang will re-order BYTE_OFFSET and BYTE_SIZE relocations and will apply BYTE_OFFSET 4 times for each switch case arm. This will result in the same error from libbpf about mismatch of memory load size and original field size. I.e., if we were reading u32, we'd still have *(u8 *), *(u16 *), *(u32 *), and *(u64 *) memory loads, three of which will fail. Using barrier_var() forces Clang to apply BYTE_OFFSET relocation first (and once) to calculate p, after which value of p is used without relocation in each of switch case arms, doing appropiately-sized memory load. To fix possibly the race to access register between the WiFi reset and the other context that is caused by explicitly cancelling ps_work and wake_work to break PM_STATE consistency. Deep sleep would cause the hardware into the inactive state, so we forcely put device drv_own state before we start to reset. In hid_test_uclogic_params_cleanup_event_hooks(),it call uclogic_params_ugee_v2_init_event_hooks() with the first arg=NULL, so when it calls uclogic_params_ugee_v2_has_battery(), the hid_get_drvdata() will access hdev->dev with hdev=NULL, which will cause below user-memory-access. In hid_test_uclogic_exec_event_hook_test(), the filter->work is not initialized to be added to p.event_hooks->list, and then the schedule_work() in uclogic_exec_event_hook() will call __queue_work(), which check whether the work->entry is empty and cause the below warning call trace. So call INIT_WORK() with a fake work to solve the issue. After applying this patch, the below work->entry not empty bug never occurs.
