Steps to reproduce this issue in prod:

  1. https://gitpod.io/#foo=bar/[email protected]:gitpod-io/gitpod.git (successfully starts a workspace)
  2. https://gitpod.io/workspaces (now broken / totally empty / shows the console error above)

We've also released a hot-fix to production (based on #8100) that resolves this problem (so step 2. works fine again now).

We're also planning to implement a better long-term fix before the next deployment. Many thanks @geropl for driving a quick resolution here. 💯
