How to use Vocabulary Import

It is a good practice when you are studying a language by reading to mark unknown words and add them to Anki later. With PronKi you can import these marked new vocabulary easily.

Highlighting words

A few considerations about highlighting words:

1. Use text with font size not too small.
2. Use a marker of good quality that will not mix with the color of the text (gel ones preferred).
3. Highlight the whole area of the word.
4. Take a good picture and make sure you can zoom in and see the characters with no problem. Avoid direct light source in the text.

Example:

Importing

1. Go to Settings and then click Configure OpenCV.
2. Click on the rectangle with camera icon and select a picture with words that you highlighted.
3. Adjust the Lower limit and Upper limit to encompass in this range the color of the marker that you used. It will happen when you can only see the words that you marked and everything else on the image is black. Example:

4. Click Save and then go to vocabulary tab and click Add vocabulary.
5. Select an image and cut on the region that the words are marked.
6. Wait until the text appears on the screen. The highlighted words should be yellow. You can mark or unmark any word in this screen.
7. It's done, after clicking Save all marked words will be imported into the app.
