Which version should new developers use? #702
Comments
Hey @dolzenko Anyway, answering your question, I'd go with 0.8.0. The next version that we are working on 0.10.0 that may become 1.0, will be based on 0.8.0. The version 0.9.0 is sort of its own thing. Thank you for asking! 😄 |
It might belong to The future of AMS but I can't post publicly there even after joining the group. Also this seems like an issue with documentation - it seems to make sense (given the overall confusion around the topic) to adjust docs to make it easier on newcomers. |
Yes, I would recommend 0.8 if you're starting today. It's the widest used and will be closest to the future 0.10. |
Oh? What happens? |
@steveklabnik one of those typical PEBCAKs, worked now, sorry. And thank you for this clarification and all your amazing work in general! |
Per the discussion in rails-api#702, I figured it might be nice to note which version of AMS is recommended to be used in new projects.

The readme only has instructions for someone whos been using AMS previously, I'm currently starting a new project and is a bit lost as to what version I should be working with to reduce upgrade costs in the future (0.8/0.9/master).
