Welcome to version 0.19 of Dev Home! In this release, we focused on adding File Explorer source control integration, code health, and quality improvements! Check them out:

Accessibility fixes

  • Narrator should now properly announce all of the content in the File Explorer source integration page. (#3906) (#3941)
  • The Learn more links on the app install page should no longer get cut off. (#3917)
  • The keyboard should no longer lose focus after opening and closing a File Explorer window from Dev Home. (#3926)

  • File Explorer source control integration now supports repositories in WSL. (#3893)
  • WinAppSDK has been updated to version 1.5. (#3921)
  • You can now unassigned the version control from a selected repository in the File Explorer source integration page. (#3932)
  • The Introducing Dev Home page has been removed. (#3952)
  • The functionality to continue restoring your device after OOBE has been removed. (#3953)
  • Dev Diagnostics, an experimental feature, has been removed. (#3955)

Accessibility fixes

  • Narrator should now read out content when the "committing changes" dialog appears on the Virtualization feature management page in Windows customization. (#3640)
  • Environments cards now have a higher contrast. (#3808)

Changes

  • File Explorer source control integration is now available as an experimental feature in Windows Insider Program Dev (26120.1620+) and Beta (22635.4082+) channels. You can register repository folders using Dev Home to see source control content in File Explorer, such as branch name, status, last change message, etc. (#3542)
  • When enabling an experimental feature, you can now navigate directly to where that feature lives (Thanks @davidegiacometti!). (#3595)
  • Project Ironsides has been renamed to Dev Diagnostics. (#3738)
  • The WSL extension should now use your default terminal to launch and install distros. (#3742)

Bug fixes

  • You should now be able to add a standard user account to the Hyper-V Administrator group when elevating using a separate admin account. (#3589)
  • Navigating away from the dashboard should no longer crash Dev Home. (#3619)
  • You can now create multiple Hyper-V VMs at the same time in Environments. (#3687)
