System Requirements

Minimum:

  1. Windows 7 64-bit with the Platform update or Windows 10 64-bit (update to the latest build) - No Windows 8 support folks
  2. DirectX 12 capable GPU with at least feature level 11_0 and shader model 5.1 support
  3. 1GB VRAM
  4. 6GB RAM
  5. CPU with AVX support (since v2.0)

Please note: the minimum requirements listed above are just an estimate - it is not guaranteed that it will work with these specs.

Recommended:

  1. Windows 10 64-bit (update to the latest build)
  2. DirectX 12 capable GPU with feature level 11_1 support
  3. 4GB VRAM
  4. 16GB RAM
  5. CPU with AVX support (d912pxy v2.0 and above)

Performance results are dependent on your hardware - do not expect significant performance increases if your system is already overloaded while using DX9!

Installing

  1. Disable all overlay software. Compatible overlays
  2. Delete all incompatible addons and related files from the game's bin64 folder. Alternatively delete the entire bin64 folder (it will be recreated the next time you launch the game).
  3. Recommended: Update your GPU drivers (AMD | NVIDIA).
  4. Recommended: Update your Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables from here.
  5. Recommended: Select "Windowed" or "Windowed Fullscreen" in the game's graphics settings.
  6. Recommended: Disable Windows Defender (or whitelist d912pxy) due to false-triggers/intrusive checking/overprotection.
  7. Download the latest release from here. Alternatively you may install the addon manager and use it to download d912pxy (proceed with step 10 in this case).
  8. Unpack the downloaded release zip file into the game folder so that the unpacked "d912pxy" folder is in the game's root folder (next to the Gw2-64.exe).
    Guild Wars 2
     +-bin64\
     +-d912pxy\
     | Gw2-64.exe

  9. Run the "install.exe" found within the "d912pxy" folder (if "install.exe" is not present in the unpacked "d912pxy" folder, check your Windows Defender activity). Windows Defender might block the execution of the installer. If so, click the "show more" label and another button will appear in the bottom right, which will allow you to proceed with the installation.
  10. Use default installation parameters by pressing "Enter" continuously until the program exits or choose custom installation parameters to configure the installation according to your preferences.
  11. If installed correctly and upon first launch, you should see an overlay with some useful information in-game. Moreover a "log.txt" file will be created in the "d912pxy" folder. Note: use the shortcut Ctrl+Alt+N to toggle the overlay's visibility.
  12. On clean/first install of d912pxy you might need to wait for shader compilation if you are seeing an initial blackscreen/long loading of objects.
  13. Read more information on troubleshooting if you encounter any issues.
  14. Optional: Read additional information if you are installing d912pxy for Blade&Soul here.
  15. Optional: Custom configure d912pxy according to your hardware and preferences.

Uninstalling

  1. Run the "install.exe" within the "d912pxy" folder
  2. Choose "Remove" by entering 2 during the fifth input prompt
  3. Manually delete the "d912pxy" folder afterwards to remove all remaining files entirely

Updating

Follow install instructions or do a clean install (Uninstall->Install) if d912pxy is not working after an update.

Working with "dx_debug=1"

The common problem with debug runtime is the absence of "Graphics tools" on your system that are removed somehow due to system updates. To fix this, install "Graphics tools" on your own or follow a manual.
