I'm waiting for a kubernetes-sigs member to verify that this patch is reasonable to test. If it is, they should reply with /ok-to-test on its own line. Until that is done, I will not automatically test new commits in this PR, but the usual testing commands by org members will still work. Regular contributors should join the org to skip this step.

Once the patch is verified, the new status will be reflected by the ok-to-test label.

I know there's some history behind enabling/disabling dependabot in CAPI in the past as we had some issues with it.
I'll wait for comments from folks familiar with that.

@killianmuldoon Slightly related. I think we can follow-up with additional config for gomod where we only allow upgrades to the coredns migration lib with allow (https://docs.github.com/en/code-security/dependabot/dependabot-version-updates/configuration-options-for-the-dependabot.yml-file#allow). If we only allow upgrades to one dependency that should be safe against spam too :)
