Magic Areas doesn't follow the convention way of being added through the UI. Instead Magic Areas creates the entries dynamically according to your Areas in your Area Registry. That's why it's required to include magic_areas: in your configuration.yaml.

Given that, removing Magic Areas requires you to:

⚠️ Steps below are required to be executed in this exact order

  • Delete all Magic Areas entries from the Integrations UI
    • Select the Magic Area entry
    • Click the options (three dots) and choose Delete.
  • Remove magic_areas: from your configuration.yaml
    • (if using HACS) Uninstall from HACS
    • (if not) Delete the magic_areas folder from your config/custom_components folder
  • Restart Home Assistant core
