Did it used to work in some previous version? Did you try the latest git build?

Can you check if it had any log output (if you're on PC use "Log Console" - it's a bit harder on mobile)? If it happens on mobile, does it happen on a PC (even an old one) too?

What device are you using anyway? If you don't say, I might assume you're using a 286 IBM with a CGA video card. If so, that's the problem right there. PPSSPP doesn't run on 30 year old computers. That's a joke, but we can't even begin to help without information.

It's marked in game and 3 stars for graphics and gameplay, though, so guessing it didn't hang at the menu for them. Maybe they just didn't test the whole game.

to be specific, my device is snapdragon 625 oreo 8.1.0 , tested on vulkan open gl , still black screen, also tested ducati challenge getting slow fps

Loading screen is too long on 222 MHz. When underclock it faster loading it's playable

following setting like @Panderner mention, confirmed it works , use USA version. so burnout that left slow right now on sun shines in the morning :)

forgot to mention, the loading is the culprit, need to fast forward to make it quick to main menu
