Welcome to the Access the Data (AtD) wiki, your one stop shop to everything about this project.
Access the Data is a data catalog being built by volunteers at Hack for LA. It can be difficult to track down all of the data you need to advocate for your community, but with Access the Data, any municipality can set up their own data catalog where their communities can curate their own collection of local, open-government data. With this resource it will be easier for communities to understand how government decisions and policies are made on a local level and have the tools they need to participate in that process.
Find out how to contribute here!
Mission:
Connect People to Policy with Open Data
Vision:
Access the Data is a tool that any municipality can adopt to make it easy for citizens to find, navigate, and understand local government data.
Access the Data (AtD) is one of a series of products being created by Hack for LA, a child organization of Civic Tech Structure. These products are part of Hack for LA's Citizen Engagement Program Area Initiative. Each product at Hack for LA focuses on one or more of the Sustainable Development Goals as set by the United Nations.
