Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe
Gitpod can be installed via both gitpod-installer and KOTS, and at present we're hoping to move more end users to KOTS for a host of reasons. However customers have encountered limitations in the KOTS installer and have been working around said limitations by using the original gitpod-installer.
To validate that we're addressing customer needs and improving the installation experience we'll need visibility into the Gitpod installation source. However that information is not surfaced in client analytics, preventing us from receiving the installer success signal.
Describe the behaviour you'd like
Telemetry should expose a metric indicating how that Gitpod instance was installed.
Additional context
This feature request is related to #10183 in terms of enriching installation/operations metrics.
