Summary

What we are after:
We want to move important information off of transition and into fec.gov. This ticket will focus on the various office pages now linked off our transition office chart. Do we want to make a directory page that lists the office heads and what the office does?

Related issues

Completion criteria

  • Go through the current inventory of office pages and determine which require their own page (for example, EEO for EEO laws compliance) and which ones could be boiled down into a directory listing with an office head/bio/description
  • Research how other federal agencies (e.g., SEC, GSA) do their online directory of offices
  • Survey senior managers for their opinion.
  • Make follow up implementation tickets to create new pages for offices like EEO

Future work

  • Creation of new office-specific pages (EEO)
  • Creation of directory page if that's what is desired

I time-boxed the research part and looked at other agencies that are part of the Small Agencies Council (agencies that have 500 or less employees). My document is here if @AmyKort @JonellaCulmer want to look over what I found. Now on to looking at our offices and assessing our needs.

We're going to consult with senior managers and determine next steps. We do know we'll need to make a page for EEO.

I've put in a ticket for the EEO office work at #3117. We plan to begin the work of talking with senior managers by introducing what we are thinking about doing at a meeting on September 4. We'll have a focus group for them after that and I've put in a ticket for that work at #3118. We've gone as far as we can go for now, so closing this ticket and work will pick up in #3118.
