[Dashboard] Add Ignore Global Filter Option to Panels #112328
Comments
Pinging @elastic/kibana-vis-editors (Team:VisEditors) |
I wonder whether this should be a setting of the visualization or a setting of the dashboard panel - we already have something related which is setting a specific time range per panel. This seems related. @elastic/kibana-presentation what do you think? |
I think that this setting should absolutely be on the dashboard panel. It would also be a good candidate for something that can be turned on and off in the quick edit project. This is also related to the idea of 'local filters' i.e. the filters saved into the Lens / Visualization being viewable / editable from the dashboard. |
@ThomThomson do you want to take over this issue or is there already a presentation team issue for it? |
I'm pretty sure there isn't an issue created already. Will take this issue over, and link the issue about |
Slightly related: #5647 (just so we have the crosslink in the issues) |
Please, add this feature... it's very useful improvement for visualizes and dashboards, since it's already available in TSVB. |
Bumping this to impact medium because of the logged enhancements and adding it to the Polished Panels Phase 2 epic. This could be a great followup to #137206 |
This would have been very useful to me today.. but also at the 'series' level. Comparig panel with 'no filters' (or no named filters) to series respecting the filters. Pretty sure this is doable in Vega (with a bunch if code to make it happen), but as a switch against a time series it would have been fantastic. |
+1 This is a very much needed feature. |
+1 This would be very useful for us |
Hey! On 8.9 we added the ignore globar filters on the Lens editor #159248 |
Closing this issues since this has already been added #112328 (comment) |
Describe the feature:
Add something similar to TSVB's "ignore global filters" to Lens
Describe a specific use case for the feature:
When I am building a dashboard that's dynamic (user can input time / input controls)
I need to configure certain reference or "fixture" visualizations to ignore filters
So I can have increased flexibility and advanced behavior in my dashboards--choosing what is affected by cross-filtering
