According to https://github.com/actions/runner-images?tab=readme-ov-file#available-images macos-latest now runs on M1 (ARM), and not Intel CPU. This commit switches this image to macos-latest-large, so Intel CPU is used.
For some reason the macOS-x86* Github actions failed. I also noticed that the macOS-x86* actions used I've switched it to Note: It is possible that the macOS-ARm Github actions can be switched to |

Thanks! Seems like Github is making the transition to use ARM for macos-latest
.. actions/runner-images#9741 (comment)
Note on macos-latest
and macos-latest-xlarge
: the CI build might be slightly slower if we use macos-latest
, but it's all good if the total run is around an hour. Seems like Github is using large
and xlarge
to differentiate x86 and arm, so the extra distinction is nice. But no strong preferences on my side.
