Preparation for Release 4.0.0 #1674

This issue is created to collect all the tasks we need to do before the 4.0.0 release (initially this was set to 3.9.0 but the improvements are so much that it's worth dedicating a new major version to it).

Source Code

  • Update Sming/SmingCore/SmingCore.h
  • Update Readme.md
  • Merge develop into master
  • Tag the source code in the master branch

New features

Improvements

Bug fixes

All PRs that were merged in this release can be seen from here

@alonewolfx2 you have closed the ticket for the future release ;-) Can you please re-open it again? The one for the last stable release is here: #1581 and it is already closed.

@mikee47 Please, note that the next major version will be 4.0.0 (used to be 3.9.0). The new features and improvements are so much that it's worth dedicating a new major version to it.
