- First, supply power to your HASP (AC or DC or USB, depending on which device you've built or purchased). On power-up, you should be presented with an initialization screen and then information regarding WiFi access along with a QR code for easy connection.
- With a PC or mobile device, connect to the WiFi network using the details displayed on the screen, or scan the provided QR code to do that automatically.
- You should be prompted to open a configuration website, from there click "Configure WiFi" to configure HASP to connect to your WiFi network.
- Select your WiFi network name and provide a password.
- Enter the IP address of your MQTT broker. Typically, this will be the IP address of your Home Assistant system.
- Select the appropriate port. This is usually 1883 for standard MQTT, or 8883 if TLS is enabled.
- Enter a username and password for the MQTT connection, which is usually going to be your Home Assistant username/password.
- Click "Save" and the device will connect to your network. Congratulations, you are now online!
Once HASP is configured for WiFi and MQTT, you can proceed to setup the Home Assistant Blueprints.
