Suggested changes:

  • Make vanilla enchanting pre-endgame. Lock quark matric enchanting to post-endgame.
  • Use Patchouli to make a guide book for the mod
  • Set up default keybinds in the defaultoptions folder
  • Move all modpack-related data to its own folder/.zip file
  • Reduce ore drop/generation rates [CONFIG] Reduce ore spawning or reduce ore drops #37
    • Retain ore count; change ore drops, player needs to process ore to get the desired material

Look at and tweak the configs of:

My Views
Quark matrix enchanting - I would swap them around, as matrix enchanting is much more efficient and useful
Patchouli Guide Book - Definitely, I wouldn't mind helping out here.
Keybinds - Sure why not
Carry On - Required I'd say, best blacklist things that should not be picked up
Villager Trades - With modification of ore drops, this is a must as we can a) remove armor and tools trades & b) replace these trades with machinery parts that are useful & c) can be integrated if more tech mods are added #55
Jade - huh? why blacklist blocks for a hywla fork?!?
Create - Recipes modification is a definite requirement, can be expanded if #55 is approved.

matrix: i prefer it, but its largely unpopular
guide: sure
keybinds: sure
carry on: meh, no opinion
villager trades: this was going to be done with datapacks iirc, but we could do this as well
jade: blacklist...?
create: modification yes. also to support the ore drop changes

Jade blacklist is for blocks like powdered snow and trapped chests

I am changing the enchanting change
Matrix enchanting, since it is not exactly easy to use, will be early and mid game accessible
Enchanting Infuser is to be added for post end game. The netherite table will be reserved for 2.0 (second half) of the modpack.
With this, enchantments can be picked and chosen from the very start. It is just more difficult to enchant items (which is a good thing since we want things to be slow anyway)

Add Resourcepacks, Datapacks, more mods.
Enchanting Infuser for post end game enchanting (as discussed in #8
Moved Terralith to datapacks as mod does not work
Added resourcepacks to modlist (they can be downloaded by the launcher)

Matrix Enchanting is not a hard method.
It is just slightly confusing. If a player has a proper understanding of the method, one can realize how much more efficient it is:

  • You pick the enchants you want on the item
  • It is less XP intensive
  • Much simpler then enchanting and disenchanting an item 20000 times

In short, matrix enchanting is just a watered down version of the enchanting infuser.
Either get rid of it at all, or make it the endgame option.

Side note: another option is to just keep the netherite infuser. Make netherite much more difficult to craft. This might help demonstrate the difference in between the two.

The netherite infuser is going to be difficult to craft and was never planned to be removed. IDK what you're talking about.
Also Enchanting Infuser requires less levels, and I feel like it is a good idea to let the players choose enchants, this reduces the boring aspect of enchanting, especially with more enchants added. This doesn't force players to make XP farms. They have freedom to make the farms they want to make.
Also matrix enchanting is not completely RNG-free. There are a few tricks to get what you want, but Enchanting Infuser is better at the end of the day.

Everything you said is true (except for the removing Netherite one idk what that was), but enchanting infuser is easier to use and even less RNG-based
