The product catalog page shows duplicate categories when Shop page display is set to Show categories on Atomic sites

Describe the bug

On the WordPress.com site, when Shop page display is set to show categories, the category items get duplicated indefinitely due to infinite scrolling.

Isolating the problem (mark completed items with an [x]):

• I have deactivated other plugins and themes and confirmed this bug occurs when only WooCommerce + Storefront theme are active.
• I can reproduce this bug consistently using the steps below.

To Reproduce

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

Make sure to test this on WPCOM site

1. Go to appearance> customize > WooCommerce > product catalog.
2. Set shop page display to show categories
   
3. Hit save, close the customizer and check the shop page.
   
4. If you keep scrolling, it will keep generating duplicates.

Expected behavior

The category items shouldn't be duplicated and on appear once.

Hi @shohanhossainnab,

I was also able to replicate this on my atomic site. It seems to be connected to Jetpack's Infinite Scroll setting.

The workaround now is to change Jetpack → Writing → Infinite Scroll to "Load more posts using the default theme behavior"

It has worked on my site, and it also worked in 34255055-HC.

I'll leave this open in case the Storefront devs are able to resolve it or have any feedback :)

Can we check if the issue recurs, if we change Infinite Scroll settings within
Jetpack > Settings > Writing > Theme enhancement to Load more posts using the default theme behavior ?

Deactivated Jetpack's infinite-scroll module to resolve the issue before finding this bug report, but I see that now the user's Jetpack > Settings > Writing > Theme enhancements > Infinite Scroll selection is set to the load more posts using the default theme behavior option as recommended above, so perhaps these actions are one in the same.
