Fix compiler warnings in debug mode

Description

When compiling in debug mode, some compiler warnings were being generated.

Steps To Reproduce

1. compile in debug mode.
2. view warning messages

Additional context

Unfortunately, I do not remember which compiler I was using at the time. I was most likely Lazarus because my earlier work with Morse Runner started with N2IC's code base using Lazarus compiler. I then rebased these changes back to original code base.
