This doesn't say anything about how frequently the AB revisits the choice of chair, which is probably a good idea in both directions - you don't want to change chairs every month, ideally, but you also should be forced to ask the question "is the current chair the optimal one" on so often a cycle that it doesn't seem epochal to choose a new chair.

I was thinking of leaving that open, so that it happens whenever the consensus changes. A good time to evaluate whether it has may be right after an election. Not necessary that you'd change after every election, but you'd raise the question. Having that as a systematic thing seems like it would help feeling that you can discuss this without seeming rude or mutinous.
I'm a little unsure whether that is best codified in the process directly, or whether it can be left to unwritten practice.
Left a comment. I should note that I still don't think this is a good idea, fwiw. |
Has #223 been agreed? I see some consensus on the thread, but would expect more discussion/formal consensus before it is translated into a Process change. |
@LJWatson I'm not intending to land this PR until/unless we confirm actual consensus. This is just so that we get concrete text to look at while talking about it. |
This repository has been switched to using bikeshed. Pull Requests now need to be done against the master branch (instead of the gh-pages branch), against index.bs (instead of index.html). |
