Italics don't work

Describe the bug

Whenever I type text and format it with Markdown formatting, it works for every type, like bold, hyperlinks, strikethrough. But for some reason, italics don't seem to work anywhere.

Reproduction

1. Type some text
2. Surround it with _, such as _italics_
3. Look at preview
4. Italics don't work

Expected behavior

When surrounded by _ or *, the text should be italicised.
