Genetics and Society
I could spend a whole day thinking about the intersection of disability, society, and art in the context of Andrew Wyeth's painting "Christina's World". Painter Wyeth's subject is his neighbor Christina, who contemporary critics and geneticists suspect had Charcot Marie Tooth disease. There are layers upon layers of introspection possible around this painting (see the video on the MOMA page, as well as this TikTok).
