For K8s 1.24 and forwards, the Kubernetes project uses the new registry.k8s.io as their main load-balancing endpoint, the older k8s.gcr.io registry is not synced as rapidly anymore. This also removes all references to the old hyperkube image as it's only available for K8s 1.18.9 and older
