python-slugify is now used by 21k+ projects and many major companies. As such, it would be smart to have more than one person with admin access to the project, especially, in times of pandemics.

If you would like to contribute in de-risking python-slugify and posses solid python background, with keen interests in supporting open source projects for the benefit of many; - send me an email with links to a few python projects you are maintaining.

I will select two individuals and promote them to admin level.

I'd appreciate your consideration.

Val

I'm happy to be one, this library is an excellent example of something that does one thing and does it well and as such there seems to be very little traffic in terms of issues.

@jdevera You are already a collaborator. Let me know if you can push directly to the master branch.

I also would suggest to ask on reddit.com and on python-users mailing list.

There are also some funding projects, e.g. https://prototypefund.de/
They could pay one developer for 6 months for example.

Maybe ask at open source institutions mailinglist (free software foundation, eureopean free software foundation, mozilla, debian python list, etc.) What about hackatons or youth hacking events.

One suggestion based on my experience with other projects:
Don't understand contributors as resources in the meaning of coding time. And don't make them self understand like this.
It is important to have team (3 or more people) as maintainers to share "the burden of responsibility". Having 21k projects as users of my projects and being the only one maintainer I couldn't sleep well. ;)
More important then time resources is the "you are not alone feeling". The rest will roll by itself.

One advantage of your project for potential contributors is that it is quite easy. Less code. Not to complex. Also suited for school kids.
