Discussion

• Regarding a possible physical meeting of the group, Çağrı Hoca mentioned the UD meeting next August 26–29 in Ljubljana as part of SyntaxFest 2025.
• Our next general meeting will be in the first half of January 2025 with a presentation on the copula issue.
  • Jonathan mentioned a TurkLang paper that we can utilize for the copula issue.
  • The copula issue is volunteered for by the entire Kyrgyz team, Nikolett, Furkan, and Arofat. The first meeting will be in 2-3 weeks to be decided via email.
• Nikolett presented on the -ki suffix.
  • We don't have to unify different types of -ki suffixes as there are multiple types.
  • Jonathan linked an issue on possessives.
  • We've talked about the "Bardak dolabındakilerim düştüler." example, see.
  • UD guidelines only allow splitting multiword tokens, e.g. words with clitics and contractions.
  • Jonathan mentioned there are issues under the UD docs repository worth looking at about copula, tokenization, etc.
  • We will meet to finalize the -ki suffix document.
