That will be nice. Kiwi and Vivaldi have this.
Though regular update without bugs, is the first priority at this situation.

Give us some options where we can pinned those shortcuts...

I would like to replace the home page with something more useful, but I would like to do it with an html and javascript page.
I would like to not develop it though, suggestions are welcome

Kiwi and Vivaldi have this.

unfortunately closed sources.

the priority for now is "to simplify"

Kiwi is not closed. To use its code only you have to approach the dev and give attribute.
No money matter.
Many devs using its code (actually stolen) without attributions (Lemur, Flow and more!).
And some expressed the acknowledgement (Mises).

In case this isn't common knowledge, changing homepage to chrome-native://bookmarks/folder/3 makes the homepage your mobile bookmarks.

Here's a nice, customizable mobile home page if anyone is interested. Dev is active on Github. https://web.tabliss.io/

Since I created a duplicate (oops) that was closed, I'd like to add here that this should be available in incognito mode also. Regards.

Very nice!

On Android, I had to tweak the url for it to work.

chrome://bookmarks/folder/3

How do you go a step further and select a sub folder (eg: mobile bookmarks)?

I'm not sure what is going on, but for me 'chrome-native://bookmarks/folder/3' is the mobile bookmarks on Android.

I'm not sure about other sub folders.

Hello! I would like homepage icons and links to bookmarks could be placed at bottom if toolbar is also at bottom, those icons at top are not easy to click with one hand, as everything else.

regarding this issue, I accept proposals for html+(type | java)script pages to be integrated into cromite as homepage.
also, via javascript it is possible to talk with the browser in a secure way, if there is a need to develop specific APIs for homepage-only use, I am able to do that.

Thanks for placing icons to bottom! As proposals I actually have one.. It would be really nice to have some quick switch to toggle proxy on/off, no matter on screen or menu, navigating in settings to proxy toggle is kinda slow..

yes, I have some ideas about this issue too.
Just need a developer who wants to try it out for the ui part, I'll take care of the rest.

I think it will be better in menu as checkbox, as Dark Mode and Desktop Site. Putting it to homepage seems not logical?

As of version v122.0.6261.128, I can only have 12 icons (3 row with 4 icons each) on the home screen based on their frequency. Is is possible to increase the number or have the icons paginated (swipe left right to reveal more)?

I absolutely need it for #1271.

by the way, I did some tests comparing cromite with chromium vanilla + adblock.
I need to know the differences in frame management.
the idea to start with is to improve chrome://process-internals/#web-contents by entering all the information i can retrieve (e.g. isolation keys, sandbox flags, whether intra-frame communication is allowed, blocked cookies #431 #598 #1009 #1232 #1391 #1473 #1447)

also, what I have seen is that the presence of an adblock is crucial, and the logs relating to the motivation of the block, i.e. basically which rule is applied and from which list, need to be improved (related to #632).
plus I need to extract the information of which script generated a tag, which I had in #251 patch
