Prime Music Stations don't play in Ubuntu 14.04, elementaryOS Freya and Linux Mint 17

Prime Music Stations require WebKitGTK 2.6.2 or greater to function properly. However, Ubuntu 14.04 and its derivatives (elementaryOS Freya and Linux Mint 17) contain WebKitGTK 2.4.8 and it is not possible to install a newer version from later Ubuntu releases.
