Scaffolding process failed error message on OSX

Hi!

I'm genuinely looking forward to try NetPad, but I have some issues getting started. I can successfully add the database connection and it seems to work. However, the scaffolding process fails and I can't find out how to read the entire error message since it gets truncated and my screen is only so wide ...

Any suggestions on how to approach this?

I'm running MacOS Ventura 13.2 with the latest version of NetPad, and dotnet SDK 7.0.401 installed.

Try hovering over the red error message for the whole message. Also you can check the log file which is located in ~/.local/share/NetPad, alternatively just open Settings and click the button on the bottom left to get to the app data directory.

Once you get to that and update this thread with the error we'll see what seems to be the problem.

Now we're getting somewhere! I'm running on the arm64 architechture and the corresponding version of NetPad and .NET.

So, scaffolding now works as intended!

I think there might still be some kind of architechture mismatch, because now I can't compile/run any code whatsoever:

Do you have the x64 version of the .NET SDK installed as well? If you have both x64 and ARM64 versions of the SDK installed you need to make sure NetPad is using the right one.

I can't recall ever installing the x64 version, but just to make sure I tried wiping all dotnet folders and reinstalling .NET SDK for arm64, as well as dotnet-ef. Still seeing the same issue, unfortunately.
