How to add authentication to the console?

When following the examples on how to set this up, there is no way to add authentication, at least not what I have found? Now I just get a button to click for logging in as anonymously.

Am I missing something or?

Hi @bjorntj , when the console's connections to Kafka are configured with credentials, the connection will allow for anonymous login only. If you omit the credentials, the user will be prompted to provide them in the UI instead. Are you deploying with the operator or directly with a Kube Deployment ?

Aahh... We are using the operator and have provided a name for secret to use. So I guess that is the reason.

Yes, that would be it. Also note that the next release will include support to use an OIDC provider (e.g. Keycloak) for user authentication. In that case, you would provide credentials for the Kafka connections just as you have done, but the user will still be required to authenticate with the ID provider.

If you're interested in trying that, we'd appreciate your feedback when the release is out.
