Thanks @mrclary for fixing this! It was a really annoying problem and the only workaround I found for it was removing pyproject.toml and then restoring it.

When Spyder is installed in editable mode,
.dist-infois created instead of.egg-link.This breaks the test for whether Spyder is installed in editable mode. The test is updated to accommodate
.dist-infoby checking foreditablein thedirect_url.jsonfile in.dist-info.
