Smack 4.4.1 has some patches for bugfixes in the queue. I don't have an ETA when I will release Smack 4.4.1, but since the Smack release has priortity for me, I'd first release Smack 4.4.1 and then take care of bumping Smack in spring-integration (unless someone else does it before me).

This upgrade is no rush. Take your time with fixes in Smack!

I've tried to apply your breaking changes into our code base, but it was too involving, so such a big fix will definitely go to the next major version.

I'm asking you take a look at this because you did a great job upgrading in the past, plus not all pieces of your changes make a puzzle picture on our side. For example extensions support is failing somehow because not a Message for parsing via PacketParserUtils.

But, yeah, let's come back to that later! I'll ping you here when we are good with our 6.0 version.
