I'm Smári. I've been working on free software in one form or another since the mid-90's. Nowadays I work mostly on Earth systems modeling and environmental data analysis at my company, Ecosophy, but I also maintain several libraries for the Jai programming language, as well as a number of other various projects.

My work gets funded in various different ways, but as a free software advocate I'd like to be able to spend a lot of my time working on projects that can be released to the public. Sponsorship bridges the gap between these realities by allowing me to worry less about being able to pay my bills. This can mean that I can spend more time on free software projects, both my own and contributing to others'.
