@harrybiddle I checked the engine initialization code (https://github.com/splitgraph/splitgraph/blob/bb940e1c876505d0ace1ecf928c543c56e290387/splitgraph/commandline/engine.py#L347-L377) and it does use the connection parameters for the freshly added engine rather than the existing one in .sgconfig.
