@orifox was trying out this workflow where he had JWST/NIRCam and JWST/MIRI images aligned by WCS. The MIRI image has a much larger FOV than the NIRCam one, and they only partially overlap. Sometimes, when he had both layers visible and partially opaque (so both are visible in viewer at the same time), the Compass does not show anything, which indicated that something went wrong in the backend. No error is visible in notebook. I don't remember if we checked the snackbar.
If we want to pursue this, Ori needs to share his data and provide a workflow to reproduce this consistently. Workflow is similar to #1509 but I am not sure of the exact order here.
