look at the possibility of keyboard entry for notes (there is a script "standalone" that looks as if you have done some work on this already :)

@alexnklein Cool - I look forward to seeing it!

Also, now that the kernel 3.12 has decent support for external MIDI devices, I'm also going to start looking at plugging in physical keyboards :)

Has any work on this been done yet? I just tried playing around with Sonic Pi, and as a programmer, I am loving the control I have over everything. However, the musician in me feels that there are better interfaces to be used (rather than text) for some things – especially note entry and experimentation.

v3.0 shipped with full MIDI support :-)
