Hi, checking in on this PR. I'd be happy to abandon this if you'd rather upgrade Angular a different way, but I have a project that I'm looking to upgrade to 18 and this is currently blocking that without force-upgrading. Let me know if you need me to do anything else on this. Thanks!

Hi @paulirwin I apologize for missing this. I couldn't time to work on this, due to some tight work commitments in the past few weeks. I will review and merge this and publish by today or tomorrow.
