Dear,
I don't know when to use gene/gene-batch/gene-label/gene-cell as the "param dispersion" in VAE. please have a look at this link:

We recommend you to use the default parameter (gene or gene-batch when several batches) all the time, which is what we do in the scVI paper consistently.
