Alpine failed to start in kual

After following the instructions for alpine kindle kual, it does not start when I go to deploy the desktop. Is there anything I am missing? Also, I have (just to try) unzipped the alpine.zip into alpine kindle kual and still it does not work...

Am I supposed to be connected to WiFi? I am on airplane mode. Thank you.

Hello,

you need to have network access to deploy the desktop, because so far you only installed the fancy buttons utility. Tapping the deploy button will download, extract and install Alpine Linux. If you want to stay in airplane mode, just do what the deploy-script does manually: https://github.com/schuhumi/alpine_kindle_kual/blob/master/alpine_kindle_kual/deploy.sh

Note that this project is very old and I moved on to other things. I happily leave it accessible to anyone to peek and poke and learn about how something like this works, but currently I'm not in the position where I can give substantial support or update the alpine linux image.
