I use rdp client on my window 7 after runing the script as root everything installed then when I go on the sesman x11rdp option in the windows on rdp client on windows 7 it just disconnects.

on ubuntu 16.04 xfce4 desktop

Did you try sesman-Xvnc ? I'm not sure, but I think there's some kind of incompatibility with recent Xorg that it's building against...

It is not correct. o-Matic is a tool to enable sesman-X11rdp. Using sesman-Xvnc is out of point of view.

@metalefty do you think you may be able to fix this issue somehow? Its really anoyying also I don't see any errors in the window rdp generates it just gets disconnected

Can you see any errors in xrdp.log, xrdp-sesman.log in /var/log?

It says terminated session my username display :10.0, session_pod

Then after that it says shutting down sesman

That's close but too short. Helpful information is dumped around there.

Prepare two terminal and try to run xrdp and sesman in foreground and connect to know why the session is terminated.

(Terminal 1)

# service xrdp stop
# xrdp -ns

(Terminal 2)

# xrdp-sesman -ns

Show me the output of terminal 2.

This is. It looks X11rdp is not installed in your system. Installation didn't succeed.

well why is it then an option in the drop down menu? also synaptic package manager shows it as installed

also if I attempt to reinstall you think thi would fix things?

Anyway, try reinstall and carefully see the log during the installation.
Show me how it fails.

install took a while and I had to reinstall xrdp and now my windows system cn connect to my linux one however all it shows is a black screen

I think this is the latest log not sure I got it out of the var/logs folder so I assume it to be also kept and eye on the install but at end couldn't view all of it

and x11rdp is definitly installed

Recommend leaving the bit depth blank in the config, I think it it doesn't
match this happens.

/etc/xrdp/xrdp.ini you're looking for sesman that uses libxup.so

Yes, blank that or make sure the client is using the same setting.

I did as you suggested i blanked it but when i connect using display setting 24 on windows rdp client it connects and the connection log comes up just ending in connection ok shows just log window and black screen.

I'm not sure what the means. You're saying you see the connection log (on
the client) but it just sticks there? Or turns into a black screen?

I see connection log on client sticks there but if i minimise the screen and maximise i get a black screen on the client either way my desktop is not shown on the client
