It's not you, @jmathes, it's @sinkcup. I'm not sure why you are a participant on this issue. Maybe because you originally created this repo?

I know composer is better. My question is : why this pear channel show that error? I have tried other pear channels on github, they are all down ... same error as this pear channel

I'm not sure. Sounds like it might be an issue with your system configuration.
