Welcome to the bbb-install wiki!

The scripts in this repository automate the installation of BigBlueButton (BBB). an open source web conferencing system. There are separate scripts for installing the standard release of BBB and for adding the development tools necessary for creating custom and extended versions of BBB. The steps to produce the version of ffmpeg recommended for use with BBB are also in a separate script. Potentially this could be used to build a Debian package of ffmpeg that can be installed prior to running the bbb-install script.

This wiki includes some notes on how to backup and restore BBB using duply and duplicity, and how to recover from disasters using the bbb-install script. There are also preliminary notes on creating an updated virtual machine image every day so that you can create a replacement server in minutes using your preferred cloud provider.
